Commercial Fishing:
Experience the lifestyle and process of commercial fishing. On this special trip, you are part of the crew! Share in the potential revenue after the sale of a catch. These trips are planned based on the market price for the target species, the bite, and the Gulf’s condition. Commercial fishing has very different rules, focusing on harvesting large quantities of valuable sport fish. The captain will file a float plan providing the trip’s cost basis, which is your only fee. The sale of the catch is split evenly across the crew onboard. If the fish are biting, you fished for free and made some money! All fish caught will be sold. The average fuel burn can range between $300 and $1200 depending on the target species. This trip is limited to 2 customers allowing you to split the cost with a friend. Common target species are King Mackerel, Wahoo, Swordfish, Blackfin Tuna, and Ahi. These trips are only on weekdays, with early departures. We plan a 3pm arrival at the fish broker, and no later than a 4pm return to port.
